Evaluating the cultural landscape for a leading global packaging manufacturer

Introducing Shawpak

Shawpak is a leading UK manufacturer of a unique range of packaging equipment for medical devices. Their machinery is sold worldwide and they are well positioned to provide service support with service teams based in Europe and North America. Through a period of significant growth the organisation has outgrown its current operations and has had to seek additional manufacturing capabilities.

Recognising the vital link between a strong company culture, employee satisfaction, and service excellence, Shawpak set out to evaluate their cultural landscape.

To gain a comprehensive understanding and challenge existing perceptions, they partnered with Cultiv8tiv, ensuring that voices from all levels of the organisation were heard. Through a Cultiv8tiv assessment, they gave their employees the opportunity to provide truly anonymously feedback with AI pulling all the strands together to help give a detailed overview of the organisation’s culture together with actionable insights.

Read on to explore how the Cultiv8tiv assessment provided Shawpak with valuable insights into their organisational culture.

Prioritising employee engagement

Shawpak’s organisational culture is built on collaboration, innovation and openness where every team member, regardless of role or seniority, feels comfortable reaching out to directors or senior management at any time. They foster a transparent environment where all employees are able to communicate freely regardless of level of seniority, whether it’s sharing ideas, seeking guidance or discussing challenges. Like all forward thinking organisations they wanted to independently assess their culture to ensure that both the organisation and its people were aligned.

Client Testimonial

Reflecting on the value of the Cultiv8tiv assessment, Saraya Ali, Project Manager at Shawpak, said:

“We’ve run employee surveys in the past, but none have offered the level of detail Cultiv8tiv provided. Their AI powedered assessment tool enabled us to clearly understand our strengths and weaknesses, but more importantly it gave us detailed analysis and actionable insights that we can action to create a better working environment. It has been extremely useful for the executive team because it has  provided them with an objective view of the organisation’s culture.”

Getting to grips with the technology

The Cultiv8tiv platform offered an intuitive and easy to use interface that allowed Shawpak to quickly create and distribute the assessment. From giving the green light they were up and running in less than 10 minutes with the assessment launched. Saraya Ali commented that:

“One of the strengths of Cultiv8tiv is its ability to truly anonymise responses which encourages honesty and transparency from employees because it makes them feel safe to express their thoughts. We were also able to log in to track the assessment in real time and see how many of our employees had completed the assessment, which was great, it meant we could tailor the encouragement according to live response rates.”

“We were a little sceptical at the start of the process as we have never used AI in this way,  but we wanted to give it a go and be proven wrong. I can confirm that we were proven wrong! The report was very comprehensive and extremely valuable to us. The results were back only hours after the assessment had ended and confirmed some topics we were already aware of, but it also gave us insight into a number of areas that we need to review. The results were presented in a clear and concise manner with visual aids at the start of the report for each section of the assessment which made it extremely easy to see a snapshot of the overall assessment with the option to dive into the detail.”

The road to success is engagement

Shawpak have realised the important role that employee feedback provides in helping to build great working environments for employees and how anonymous assessment enables all employees to feel comfortable sharing their ideas, issues and opinions. By creating a great place to work the organisation is able to drive up productivity as well as attract and retain top talent.
